Fabio Capello's son Pierfilippo has dismissed reports that the Italian met with officials from Anzhi Makhachkala during a recent trip to Russia.
The England manager's presence in Moscow ignited rumours that he was in talks with the Dagestani club.
However, Pierfilippo, who is also the 65-year-old's lawyer, said the Italian was in the Russian capital to visit the Bolshoi Theatre.
"He received an invitation to go and, as you know, my father is passionate about the arts," he told the Daily Mail.
"If he was meeting with a football club I would expect to be there, and I am in England."
Capello has made it clear that he will step down as England's boss after next summer's European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.
