Aaron Cresswell and Jordan Pickford have been called into the England squad as replacements for Danny Drinkwater and Fraser Forster.
The uncapped duo were left out of interim manager Gareth Southgate's initial 25-man squad, but have been drafted in in place of the Leicester City midfielder and Southampton goalkeeper, who miss out through injury.
Pickford has drawn plaudits for his performances in goal for the Black Cats this season, despite his side sitting bottom of the table with only five points from 11 games.
Cresswell, meanwhile, has been limited to just three Premier League appearances this term due to injury but has recently returned to the West Ham United side and sees his form rewarded with his first international call-up.
England will host Scotland in a World Cup qualifier on Friday before ending the year with a home friendly against Spain four days later.
The double-header is due to be Southgate's final match in interim charge of the team, although he is currently the favourite to be named as the next permanent England boss.
