Greg Dyke: 'FIFA won't reform under Sepp Blatter'

Chairman of the Football Association Greg Dyke insists that FIFA will not be able to reform while Sepp Blatter is still president.

Greg Dyke has said that he does not expect FIFA to reform while Sepp Blatter remains president of football's governing body.

The 79-year-old, who has been in the role since 1998, was re-elected in Zurich earlier, defeating Prince Ali after he withdrew from a second round of voting, despite a number of senior FIFA officials being arrested on corruption charges earlier this week.

The chairman of the Football Association told Sky Sports News: "We think that's the impact of the events of this week, but this isn't over by any means. The events of this week were so dramatic for FIFA, but I cannot see FIFA reforming itself under Blatter. He's had 16 years to reform it but he hasn't done it.

"England won't withdraw from anything on its own and you can be absolutely certain about that. That would be ridiculous. There will be discussions I think in FIFA about this result and what FIFA should do next but that won't be England alone."

"This is the beginning not the end. I think there is a lot more of this to play out."

Dyke has previously said that England would consider boycotting the 2018 World Cup in Russia if Blatter remains in charge of the sport.
