A game remembered largely for being David Beckham's first at senior international level. It was his Manchester United teammate, Gary Neville, who set up England's first goal, scored by Nick Barmby in the 23rd minute, before Paul Gascoigne looped in a header just 60 seconds later. Full-back Neville claimed a second assist of this World Cup qualifier after the restart when he played in Alan Shearer to round off the scoring.
2. England 4-0 Moldova, September 1997
Just 10 days after the death of Princess Diana, England had the chance to lift the spirit of a nation. Man United youngsters Beckham and Paul Scholes linked for the only goal of the first half, before Gascoigne played in Ian Wright for number two in the 46th minute. The same two players then linked for Gazza to score England's third of the evening, while Wright added a fourth in stoppage time.
3. Moldova 0-5 England, September 2012
England took control of their first clash with Moldova in 16 years early on when Frank Lampard scored from the penalty spot in the third minute. The Chelsea midfielder added a second soon after, before Jermain Defoe got in on the act with 32 minutes played.
