Football Association general secretary Alex Horne has revealed that the governing body will appoint a permanent England manager when the season comes to a close.
Horne has admitted that the majority of potential candidates are still in work, which reinforces suggestions that Tottenham Hotspur coach Harry Redknapp is their prime target.
"There's definitely a list," said Horne. "It's a back end of the season decision for us.
"We recognise that a lot of the managers on the list are employed and we don't want to interrupt anyone's season. We're not rushing this, we're expecting something at the back end of the season."
Redknapp has been vocal about his desire to focus on Spurs for the rest of the season as they try to secure a Champions League spot.
