The Football Association have reportedly decided to relieve Stuart Pearce of his managerial duties with the England Under-21 side.
The verdict is believed to have been taken following the recent performances at the ongoing European Championships in Israel, where England failed to qualify beyond the group stages despite being considered one of the favourites to win the tournament.
Pearce is out of contract later this summer and he will soon be informed that his deal will not be extended any further, according to The Mirror.
Steve McClaren, who once managed the England senior side, and Gareth Southgate are thought to be the frontrunners to replace Pearce.
