Roy Hodgson names the England Under-21 squad for next week's clash against Scotland, including eight debutants.

Roy Hodgson has picked his 25-man squad for the England Under-21 clash against Scotland next week.

The senior Three Lions boss will take charge of the Under-21s as the Football Association continue to search for Stuart Pearce's successor.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has been named in the group after failing to earn a place in the senior squad, who have welcomed Manchester United youngster Wilfried Zaha.

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, Liverpool full-back Andre Wisdom, Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and Everton's Ross Barkley have all been named in the set-up.

Manchester United's young midfielder Jesse Lingard has been given his first call-up to the Young Lions after being given a chance by David Moyes during the club's pre-season tour.

Goalkeepers Jonathan Bond and George Long, defenders Todd Kane, John Stones, Eric Dier and Tom Thorpe and striker Saido Berahino have also received their first call-ups.
