Thomas Ince won't refuse to face Serbia despite suffering racist abuse

Thomas Ince insists that he will represent the England Under-21 side should they face Serbia in the Euro 2015 playoffs, despite suffering racist abuse two years ago.

England Under-21 international Thomas Ince has insisted that the racist abuse that he suffered back in 2012 will not prevent him from facing Serbia again.

The Hull City player was one of a number of England players racially abused in the second leg of their Euro 2013 playoff, which ended in an alleged brawl and resulted in Ince receiving a one-match UEFA ban.

The Under-21 side may come across Serbia once again in the Euro 2015 playoffs when the draw is decided on Friday.

"The experience will never leave me, but it would not stop me from going back there and representing my country," the Daily Mail quotes Ince as saying. "I'm a footballer and if England ask me to play I will, no matter what the circumstances.

"I understand why some people would call for us to boycott the game after what happened last time but if we refused to play them then the racists and the idiots would have won. So whoever we are drawn against, we should play. Let the authorities deal with that side of it."

Prior to Friday's playoff draw, England will take on Moldova this evening.
