Danny Mills has admitted that England produced a "worrying performance" in their final pre-Euro 2016 friendly against Portugal at Wembley this evening.
Roy Hodgson's men struggled to create clear-cut chances against a Portuguese side that had to play 55 minutes with 10 men following the dismissal of Bruno Alves.
England did eventually win thanks to Chris Smalling's header four minutes from time, but Mills was not convinced.
"Look at the positives - no injuries, a clean sheet and the win," the former England right-back told BBC Sport.
"Unfortunately that does not tell the true story. That is a worrying performance. You are looking for the team to be confident, bright and sharp but that never materialised."
England's first group opponents will be Russia on June 11 in Marseille.
