England and 10 man Honduras draw 0-0 in Miami as their friendly is interrupted by thunderstorms.

England wrapped up their preparations for the World Cup with a dull 0-0 draw against 10 man Honduras at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami that was suspended for over half an hour midway through the first half due to thunderstorms.

Roy Hodgson reverted to the same starting eleven that had beaten Peru at Wembley, with Wayne Rooney the only man to keep his place from the 2-2 draw with Ecuador.

Daniel Sturridge fired wide after Danny Welbeck's clever step over allowed Rooney's pass to find the Liverpool striker 12 yards out following a swift England counter attack in the only chance of note before referee Ricardo Salazar ordered the players off after 23 minutes.

For a while it appeared the game may be abandoned as the weather worsened, but the storm soon dispersed allowing play to resume.

With both sides struggling to find a rhythm after the restart, the game became increasingly tetchy as, first Luis Garrido for a late tackle on Steven Gerrard, then Emilio Izaguirre for petulantly kicking the ball at Sturridge, found their way into Salazar's notebook.

Hodgson threw Ross Barkley and Jack Wilshere on at half time and within 90 seconds the Everton midfielder whipped a 20 yard effort just wide of Noel Valladares's post.

Barkley was involved again on 53 minutes as he surged forward and fed Sturridge whose attempted chip from the edge of the area sailed wide.

Honduras were reduced to ten men just after the hour mark as Brayan Beckeles was given a second yellow for an elbow on Leighton Baines, but still England struggled to break through.

Sturridge wastefully headed over from Glen Johnson's cross to cap a disappointing night for England who face Italy in their World Cup opener in Manaus on June 14.
