Sports Mole previews Tuesday's European Under-21 Championship Group A clash between Israel and England.

Israel will hope to sneak into second position in Group A when the Under-21 European Championship hosts welcome already-eliminated England to the Teddy Stadium on Tuesday.

Back-to-back defeats have left Stuart Pearce's side bottom of the group on zero points, but Israel still have a mathematical chance of securing a spot in the semi-finals of the competition, providing they beat England, Italy record three points against Norway and a six-goal swing goes in their favour.

The last time the two sides clashed was two years ago, when Pearce's side were 4-1 winners in Barnsley. However, much has changed in both squads since that meeting on September 5, 2011.

The hosts' only previous tournament appearance came six years ago, but they lost all three fixtures against the Netherlands, Portugal and Belgium, failing to score a single goal in the process.

England, who are in their fourth successive Under-21 European Championship, were runners-up in 2009, but they failed to progress past the group stages in 2011, which is also the case this time around.

The home side, who have drawn 2-2 with Norway and lost 4-0 to Italy thus far, have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match, with Nir Biton expected to skipper the team from midfield.

There are also expected to be starts for Mohammed Kalibat and Moanes Dabour in attack. However, Eyal Golasa will not be available after the 21-year-old was given his marching orders in the defeat to Italy last time out.

England boss Pearce, however, suggested on Saturday that he would hand starts to a number of his younger players, but captain Jordan Henderson should keep his place in midfield.

Rotation should allow the likes of Andre Wisdom, Jack Robinson and Josh McEachran to come into the side, with Connor Wickham and Jason Lowe starting on the bench.

Recent form:

Israel: LWWDL

England: WWWLL

Possible lineups:

Israel: Klaiman; Dasa, Davidzada, Vehava, Levy; Kabha, Biton, Verta, Zaguri; Kalibat, Dabour

England: Butland; Smith, Caulker, Wisdom, Robinson; McEachran, Chalobah, Henderson; Zaha, Ince, Redmond

Sports Mole says: 1-1
