Everton are expected to be boosted by the return of James Rodriguez for Sunday's Premier League clash with basement side Sheffield United at Goodison Park.

The Colombia international was not involved in his side's goalless draw with Aston Villa on Thursday due to a calf problem, but head coach Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that the attacker will be back in the first XI here.

Ancelotti is expected to resist the temptation to shuffle his pack following the clash with Villa, meaning that there might only be one change to the side, with Rodriguez coming in for Seamus Coleman.

Andre Gomes and Alex Iwobi are among the options for change, while Yerry Mina could come into contention for a start, providing that the centre-back is passed fit following an adductor injury.

The same back four are likely to take to the field once again, though, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison featuring in the final third of the field for Everton, who are currently eighth in the Premier League table.

Lucas Digne and Mason Holgate should again feature in the full-back areas, but there is also the option of a back five, depending on whether Ancelotti wants to release Rodriguez in a central area.

There will be no Jean-Philippe Gbamin for the Toffees this weekend, though, with the midfielder out for the remainder of the season with a knee problem.

Everton possible starting lineup: Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Godfrey, Digne; Rodriguez, Doucoure, Allan, Sigurdsson; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin
