Gerard Deulofeu has suggested that he will hit the ground running at Everton after rejoining the club on a permanent deal this summer.
The 21-year-old penned a three-year contract with the Toffees earlier this week, having impressed during a loan stint on Merseyside in 2013-14.
Deulofeu revealed in an interview with Everton's official website that he kept close tabs on their developments last season, and was eager to make a return ahead of the new campaign.
"Of course, knowing the players will help me to adapt a great deal," the Spaniard said. "You don't have to start from the beginning again – you don't have to start from zero.
"I've been getting messages from some of the players like Seamus [Coleman] and I speak to Joel [Robles] as well. That will all help me to adapt again and there's a really good atmosphere in the changing room, the guys are great.
"I always followed Everton. If the team were playing on television, I would watch the game. If not then I would look to check the results. I always wanted to see how they were doing."
Barcelona youth product Deulofeu spent last season on loan at Sevilla, where he struggled for regular game time.
