Everton’s Royston Drenthe has admitted that he has something to prove after joining on loan from Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old’s Real contract expires at the end of the season and the Dutchman is desperate to show the Toffees what he can do.
"I am really happy I can make this step in my future. I think it is really important for me," he said.
"I think Everton is a really good step for me. I have to train hard to get in the team and then I can demonstrate my quality in the games.
"I have something to prove because my time at Real Madrid has ended already. It ended a year ago."
Drenthe spent last term on loan at La Liga newcomers Hercules, making 17 appearances.
