Everton have decided to offer Leighton Baines a new contract to extend his stay at Goodison Park, according to reports.
Baines was a transfer target for Manchester United in the summer but Everton managed to fight off interest from the Premier League champions after rejecting at least two bids for the England defender.
However, United are believed to be considering going back in for Baines when the transfer window reopens in January, according to The Guardian.
The 28-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract, which is believed to be worth around £50,000 a week, and Everton would be willing to improve his wage in an attempt to tie down the full-back to a longer deal.
Baines joined the club from Wigan Athletic in 2007.
