Everton newcomer Nikica Jelavic has set the Toffees an ambitious target of European football next season.
The Croatian frontman is hoping to help fire the Merseyside club into the Premier League's elite after his £5.5m deadline day switch from Rangers.
He watched his new side overcome league leaders Manchester City on Tuesday and sees no reason why such form can't continue.
"Why not Europe this season? We have a team capable of getting into Europe and my big hope is that we can do it," Jelavic told the Daily Star.
"From my point of view I hope that my goals can help them get there. I will be doing my best to get as many goals as I can.
"There are good players here at Everton and I think we deserve a better position in the league. I aim to help Everton do just that."
The 26-year-old is expected to pull on a blue shirt for the first time when Everton travel to Wigan later this afternoon.
