Everton manager Frank Lampard has revealed he will work closely with Nathan Patterson.
The full-back joined the Toffees during the January transfer market prior to the former Chelsea boss taking charge of the club, but so far he is yet to make his debut for the first team.
The former Rangers defender had featured six times in the Scottish Premiership before switching to Goodison Park, where he has found competition for a place in the starting lineup with Seamus Coleman.
"At the minute, he is in a position where the captain of the club Seamus has been so impressive since I have been here, and for a long time at the club. He needs to work, keep developing, the club have signed him for the future as well as now," Lampard told the press.
"I will work with Nathan very closely and my staff, who work with the young players in particular, and when he gets his opportunity, I want to see him take it."
Everton will be back in action on Saturday when they face Leeds United in the Premier League. body check tags ::
