Roberto Martinez has revealed his delight at watching his Everton team thump Manchester United 3-0 at Goodison Park this afternoon.
James McCarthy fired the Toffees into the lead after just five minutes, before John Stones glanced a header past David de Gea shortly before the break.
With United toiling in the final third, Kevin Mirallas put the game to bed in what was the club's biggest win over the Red Devils for 23 years.
"There was a three-goal difference and you saw two teams eye-to-eye trying to win," the Spaniard was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
"I felt we were the better side in every department and well worth keeping a clean sheet against a team of United's quality.
"We gave them a lot of respect. After all, they have been really strong in possession and, if you are not organised in defence, they will hurt you."
The Merseysiders travel to FA Cup finalists Aston Villa on Saturday.
