Leon Osman has claimed that Everton had to 'scrap' for their 2-1 win away to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
The Toffees picked up just their eighth Premier League victory of the season yesterday afternoon as they left Loftus Road with the three points.
The result has moved Roberto Martinez's side up to 13th place in the table.
"Every time we lost the ball it was sent up to the edge of our box, so we had to fight and scrap for second balls," Osman is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"It was a scrappy match defensively but we proved we can do that side of the game and then, once you've done that, you have the opportunity to hit teams on the counter-attack, which we tried to do. There was probably not as much football played as we usually like but there's no problem winning like that as well."
Everton are back in action on April 4 when they host Southampton in the league.
