Former Napoli boss Gianni Di Marzio has suggested that Everton could become "a great team" with Kalidou Koulibaly in their side.
While the centre-back has been linked with a number of established European clubs, Everton have emerged as a potential destination for the highly-regarded Senegal international.
Although acknowledging that he hopes the centre-back remains in Naples, Di Marzio hints that the 28-year-old could flourish under Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park.
Di Marzio is quoted by areanapoli.it as saying: "The market has changed and I don't think there is the same pre-coronavirus financial availability, so the value of the players will drop quite a bit.
"The future of Koulibaly? I sincerely hope he stays because he is a great player, but you have to be careful of the Premier, especially Ancelotti's Everton, who wants to build a great team."
Before moving to Goodison Park, Ancelotti and Koulibaly worked together between May 2018 and December 2019.
