Everton are reportedly keeping an eye on Sporting Lisbon striker Bas Dost ahead of a potential transfer swoop.
The Merseyside outfit failed to replace Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester United last summer in a £75m deal.
Numerous names were linked with a switch to Goodison Park, including Arsenal hitman Olivier Giroud and former Chelsea forward Diego Costa.
In the end, only Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez were recruited as attacking options, and according to ESPN, Everton manager Ronald Koeman is keen to throw Dost into the mix.
Everton's director of football Steve Walsh is believed to have watched the 28-year-old make a cameo appearance in the Portuguese side's 1-0 defeat to Barcelona last month.
Dost has scored 36 goals in 41 games in all competitions for Sporting since his 2016 move from Wolfsburg.
