Everton have moved into advanced talks to sign Burnley winger Dwight McNeil ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, according to a report.
The 22-year-old suffered relegation from the top flight with the Clarets last season, and as a result, he has been one of several names being linked with a move away from Turf Moor this summer.
Former teammate James Tarkowski has already made the move to Goodison Park, whilst the likes of Ben Mee, Nick Pope and Wout Weghorst have also exited the Championship club.
McNeil could be reunited with Tarkowski in the coming days according to Sky Sports News, who are reporting that the former England Under-21s international was having a medical at the club's training ground on Wednesday after talks entered an advanced stage.
A transfer fee has not been disclosed for McNeil, who still has two years remaining on his contract with Burnley, with the club also possessing the option of an additional year in their favour too.
The likes of West Ham United and Crystal Palace have also been linked with moves for the winger, but Frank Lampard's side look to have won the race, which if completed, would make him their third signing of the summer.
Following the arrival of Tarkowski earlier in the window, Ruben Vinagre joined the Merseyside club on a season-long loan deal from Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday, as Lampard looks to kickstart his transfer activity following last season's battle for survival.
