Everton manager Roberto Martinez has reportedly travelled to France in a bid to lure Marseille winger Andre Ayew to Goodison Park.
The Ghanaian international's contract with the Ligue 1 club is set to run out at the end of season, and with no new deal in sight, Ayew is likely to be snapped by another European outfit.
The People claims that Martinez has looked to steal a march on his rivals for the midfielder's signature by meeting with Ayew personally to try to seal the move.
It is thought that Martinez is keen to add wide options to his squad, with Kevin Mirallas apparently heading for a summer exit, while injury-prone Steven Pienaar has struggled to recapture his best form for the Toffees.
However, Ayew's reported £3m-a-year contract demands could hinder Everton hopes of signing the player, who is also attracting interest from Roma.
