Everton are reportedly interested in signing Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell.

With five games to go in the 2022-23 season, Everton are languishing in the Premier League relegation zone with two points separating them from safety.

Everton's struggles in front of goal this season have contributed to the club's lowly position in the Premier League table.

Having registered just 25 goals in 33 league games this term, the Toffees are currently the lowest scorers in the top flight.

After selling Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur last summer, Everton attempted to strengthen their forward line with the signing of Neal Maupay.

However, the 26-year-old has been unable to find his best form, scoring just one goal in 26 competitive appearances.

Everton have also had to cope without the services of their main striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin during various points of the campaign.

The Englishman has been hampered by injury issues, and he has only been able to muster one goal in 14 games this season.

Ellis Simms has also been utilised in the second half of the season since returning from a loan spell with Sunderland, but the Toffees recognise that they need to bolster their forward line in the summer.

According to Football Insider, they are planning a move for Campbell, who has a contract with Stoke until June 2024.

The report claims that they are increasingly growing confident of signing the 23-year-old even if they are relegated to the Championship.

Campbell, who is the son of former Everton striker Kevin Campbell, has top scored for Stoke in the Championship this season.

The forward has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 39 appearances for the Potters in the second tier.

After failing to win any of their last six games, Everton will be desperate to pick up a victory when they face relegation rivals Leicester City on Monday. body check tags ::
