Everton are reportedly planning a last-minute swoop for in-demand Birmingham City midfielder Demarai Gray.
The 19-year-old is believed to be in advanced talks with Premier League title chasers Leicester City after the Foxes triggered a £3.75m release clause, although according to The Mirror, the Toffees are now planning to outbid their rivals.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez is said to be impressed with "glowing reports" from scouts sent to watch Gray in action at Birmingham, where he has been since the age of 10.
Other sides thought to be interested in the England Under-20s star in the transfer window have included Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Bournemouth, while Liverpool turned down their first option on the player.
