Everton have been told by Portuguese side Beira Mar that they will have to pay £1.7m to sign highly-rated centre-back Yohan Tavares.
The Toffees had originally been told that it would cost them £500,000 to acquire the services of the 23-year-old.
Bundesliga side Stuttgart and Serie A club Palermo are also thought to be interested in the defender, according to talkSPORT.
Tavares is believed to want a move to the Premier League.
