Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that the club's young players will be 'rewarded' but has nothing to confirm with regards to a new contract for midfielder Ross Barkley.
Reports emerged overnight claiming that the Merseyside outfit are planning to tie down the 20-year-old to fresh terms following an impressive start to the campaign under the Spaniard's management.
"We're always working hard behind the scenes to reward our youngsters and Ross clearly is that, but we have nothing to announce," Martinez said in a press conference.
"I don't think Ross has changed through the season. In pre-season he showed he was ready to have a big role in the side. Ross loves the game, loves performing and the scale of games don't affect him. He's emotionally level-headed."
The Toffees are preparing to take on Fulham at Goodison Park this weekend.
