Fleetwood Town have confirmed that striker David Ball will be out of action for up to four months with a fractured leg.
The 24-year-old suffered the injury during his side's 2-1 defeat to MK Dons on October 21.
Ball, who has scored three goals in League One this season, is now expected to be sidelined until March 2015.
"He is currently in a medical boot and he will be out for between three and four months," manager Graham Alexander told the club's official website.
"It is bad news for Bally and for the team because he has been quality for the last 18 months. He scored twice in his last two games before sustaining the injury. It is a blow for us all."
Fleetwood return to action on Saturday when they travel to Cambridge United in the first round of the FA Cup.
