France midfielder Paul Pogba: 'This may be my last World Cup'

France midfielder Paul Pogba intends to "enjoy" his side's World Cup campaign as he cannot guarantee that he will compete in the competition again.

Paul Pogba has vowed to "give everything" in his pursuit of World Cup glory with France this summer as it may be his last finals outing.

The 25-year-old is part of a Les Bleus side that has already booked a spot in the last 16 of the competition, courtesy of victories over Australia and Peru in their first two games.

Ahead of Tuesday afternoon's meeting with Denmark, from which France need a draw to secure top spot in Group C, Pogba has hit back at criticism in the local press that he deems unfair.

"This may be my last [World Cup]," he told reporters. "I really want to enjoy this and to forget all the criticism, all the whispers from behind. What only matters to me is what is happening on the pitch.

"I'm here to give everything for this jersey, for my team, for France. I really want to win this World Cup. We do know that nothing is going to be easy, as you have seen in the World Cup games. Nothing is easy, it's the World Cup.

"There is no little team or even average players. I know we can do it but there is still a long road to go. We will have to fight and to be strong."

France have won the World Cup just once in their history, doing so on home soil in 1998.
