New Fulham head coach Slavisa Jokanovic has revealed that he only agreed to take over at Craven Cottage after extensive talks with the Championship side.
The former Watford boss was confirmed as Fulham's new full-time head coach on Sunday and watched from the stands last night as his side ended their nine-game winless run with a 4-1 victory over Rotherham United.
Jokanovic succeeds Kit Symons, who was sacked almost two months ago on November 8, and he said that negotiations went on for several weeks.
"We talked a few weeks and it was a long process," BBC Sport quotes the Serbian as saying. "I believe I was the first choice for the club and they pushed hard to bring me here.
"It is a great chance for me to work at a historical club."
Jokanovic's first game in charge will be at home to playoff-chasing Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
