Fulham manager Martin Jol has revealed that the club are close to signing a new midfielder but denies that the Cottagers are interested in Nigel Reo-Coker.
The 28-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Bolton Wanderers in the summer, has been linked with a switch to Craven Cottage.
"We're trying to do something in the next couple of days but not with Nigel Reo-Coker or Owen Hargreaves," said Jol.
"It will be a central midfielder from abroad and we will have to test him to see if he's fit and then we will talk to him. I'm confident of having the deal sorted next week."
Meanwhile, Jol has confirmed that striker Dimitar Berbatov will be sidelined for two weeks with a hip and thigh injury.
