Fulham manager Martin Jol has blamed his side's inability to retain possession for their 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
The Cottagers took an early lead when Mladen Petric converted a 10th-minute penalty kick, however the English champions hit back with a late goal in each half from Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko.
"We got a goal after 10 minutes, which is the platform you need against the top teams, but after that we didn't do enough to play in our style," said a frustrated Jol.
"When you have the ball you have to keep it and we didn't do that in the second half. Even so, if it is still 1-1 after 87 minutes then you obviously have the hope that you will get a result."
Fulham's last victory over City came in April 2009.
