Fulham boss Martin Jol has praised the impact made by on-loan striker Pavel Pogrebnyak.
The 28-year-old has scored five goals in four games since his January loan move from Stuttgart, and Jol has claimed that the "gamble" has paid off.
"I have to get them when they are bad, not when they are fantastic. It is impossible for us to get a player for £20m," Jol told Sky Sports News.
"But Pavel wants to work and improve and that's what makes a top, top player. If he keeps his feet on the ground, he will be a big hit. It was a gamble for him and for us."
Fulham face Manchester United in the Premier League on Monday.
