Scott Parker has insisted that Felix Magath is the right man to make Fulham a "better team".
The club were relegated from the Premier League after a 13-year spell in the top flight at the end of the 2013-14 season, which saw two managers dismissed mid-campaign.
The midfielder told BBC London 94.9: "The manager has a strong philosophy, strong ideas and is a very strong personality as well.
"He will bring in his own players and hopefully from there we will develop and become a better team.
"I spoke to him at the back end of last season and we both went away with the same thoughts, to get away over the summer, come back in pre-season and try and mould something at the club."
Fulham's players began pre-season training yesterday.
