Fulham midfielder Adel Taarabt has insisted that the arrival of new head coach Rene Meulensteen is what the club "needed".
The former Manchester United coach was appointed to work alongside manager Martin Jol following a number of disappointing results this season.
After taking on the position last week, Taarabt has claimed that Meulensteen is already making an impact in training.
"I've worked with him now for five or six days and he's unbelievable," BBC Sport quotes Taarabt as saying. "The sessions he puts on are amazing.
"The players are so happy with the sessions. They're hard work, though. Everyone comes off the training pitch saying 'I'm dead, I need to sleep!'
"Everything is intensity, intensity, intensity and working on in-game situations. It's what we needed and I think he'll bring a lot to Fulham."
Taarabt is currently on loan at Craven Cottage for the season from Queens Park Rangers.
