Turkish giants Besiktas are reportedly interested in signing Fulham winger Adama Traore in the January transfer window.
Traore is currently in his second season as a Fulham player after signing on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 following the expiry of his Wolverhampton Wanderers contract.
The 28-year-old experienced a difficult first season at Craven Cottage, with injuries restricting him to 17 Premier League appearances.
Fortunately, Traore has managed to stay injury-free during the current campaign, giving him the chance to register one goal and three assists in 12 Premier League appearances.
Besiktas plotting Traore move
While he may be focused on Fulham's Premier League campaign, Traore could be presented with the opportunity to leave the club in the new year.
According to Fotospor, Besiktas are plotting to make a January bid for Traore after identifying the attacker as a potential transfer target.
Besiktas are keen to recruit a winger in the new year as they look to strengthen a squad that has failed to win their last four Turkish Super Lig games.
As a result of their recent poor form, Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side are sitting in sixth place and 13 points adrift of leaders Galatasaray.
Will Fulham entertain a mid-season departure?
As it stands, Traore is out of contract at the end of the season, but Fulham do have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.
If Fulham plan to extend Traore's contract, it would be difficult to see them sanctioning a sale in the middle of the season, especially as the winger is getting regular game time in Marco Silva's side, either as a starter or a substitute.
However, if they are unsure whether to extend his deal, Fulham may be open to offers to avoid a situation where he leaves on a free transfer.
Even if they are keen to keep the Spaniard, they could decide to part ways if Besiktas put a significant offer on the table.
With that said, Fulham are unlikely to sanction Traore's departure without having a potential replacement lined up. body check tags ::
