Clint Dempsey has undergone a medical at Fulham ahead of a proposed January loan deal, the club's head coach Rene Meulensteen has confirmed.
It was reported last week that Dempsey might return to his former side during the MLS break, and now the club has confirmed that a move is in the pipeline.
Meulensteen said that once the medical was complete and terms were agreed with Dempsey's current club the Seattle Sounders, the player would join for January and February.
Dempsey scored 50 league goals for Fulham between 2007 and 2012.
