Fulham have lined up a move for Leicester City central defender Jannik Vestergaard ahead of their return to the Premier League, according to a report.
The 29-year-old is one of a number of players that Leicester are open to selling this summer, with departures requiring to take place before new signings can be pursued.
No moves have yet materialised for the likes of Vestergaard or Hamza Choudhury so far however, although The Sun are reporting that newly-promoted Fulham are chasing the Denmark international.
The report suggests that Marco Silva's side are planning on offering a loan deal to the Foxes, but that Brendan Rodgers' side are only keen on a permanent deal, with £12m believed to be the asking price as things stand.
Vestergaard quickly became an integral part of Southampton's defence after he made the move to the Premier League from Borussia Monchengladbach for around £22m in July 2018.
Leicester swooped in to sign the defender for around £16m last summer however, but he struggled to make an impact at the King Power Stadium and was restricted to just 10 Premier League appearances during the 2021-22 campaign.
Meanwhile, Fulham continue to search for new signings as they look to avoid relegation on their return to the top flight this season, and have so far secured the signatures of Joao Palhinha, Andreas Pereira, Kevin Mbabu and Manor Solomon.
Silva is keen to strengthen his back line though, and Vestergaard has emerged as an option after talks failed to progress with West Ham United over a potential deal for Issa Diop in recent weeks. body check tags ::
