Fulham are reportedly closing in on the signing of Benfica forward Carlos Vinicius.
The Cottagers have enjoyed a fantastic start to their first season back in the Premier League, collecting eight points from their opening five matches.
Aleksandar Mitrovic has already netted five times and the Serbia international is the undisputed first choice down the middle of the attack.
However, Marco Silva is eager to bring in backup to his leading marksman, resulting in him scouring the market for a quality alternative.
According to Record, that has resulted in Fulham approaching Benfica in an attempt to secure a deal for Carlos Vinicius.
The 27-year-old has just started the second year of a two-year loan spell at PSV Eindhoven, who possess the option to sign the player in 2023.
However, the Brazilian has never held down a regular first-team role at the Dutch side, making 13 starts and 21 substitute appearances in all competitions.
The situation is further complicated by the Dutch transfer window having already closed, preventing PSV from signing a replacement who can compete with Luuk de Jong for a starting spot.
Nevertheless, the report claims that Fulham are ready to sign Carlos Vinicius for £9.5m if an agreement can be reached with all parties.
The player is no stranger to English football having spent a year on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring nine goals in all competitions during 2020-21.
As backup to Harry Kane, however, he was restricted to just three starts in the Premier League, a further seven coming in domestic and European tournaments.
