Fulham manager Martin Jol has admitted that his squad is in need of an overhaul in the summer following their low points tally in the Premier League this season.
The West London club have several players on loan, including Emmanuel Frimpong, Urby Emanuelson and Eyong Enoh who all played in the final day 3-0 win at Swansea City.
Jol is aware that those players and others who are out of contract could leave, which will mean new arrivals.
"I'm ambitious, like Fulham are, to play in the top six, top seven, top eight," the Evening Standard quotes Jol as saying. "When I came here, we had a fantastic team and got 52 points.
"You need ambitious players and that is what I want. If eight or nine players leave, then we'll need five or six.
"The important thing is that we have to build a new team because we have a big amount of players on loan. I used eight players in central midfield [this season] and that is a lot for a Premier League team."
Fulham have recently agreed to sign right-back Sascha Riether on a permanent deal.
