Mark Schwarzer's Fulham future will be dependent on whether the club can guarantee that he will maintain his position as first-choice goalkeeper next season, according to reports.
The 40-year-old's contract with the Londoners expires in June of this year and Cottagers boss Martin Jol is reportedly looking to bring in a younger keeper in the summer.
Asmir Begovic of Stoke City and Nikolay Mihaylov of FC Twente have been mooted as possible targets and Schwarzer is cautious about committing to Fulham and then being dislodged by a new arrival.
England Under-21 keeper David Stockdale, currently on loan at Hull City, may also leave Fulham at the end of the season unless he is promised more regular action.
Schwarzer is ranked ninth on the list of Premier League all-time appearance makers, having featured 497 times for either Middlesbrough or Fulham.
