Evening all! Sports Mole's live European Under-21 Championship coverage continues from Krakow as Germany Under-21s face Denmark Under-21s in Group C. Czech Republic Under-21s have just beaten Italy Under-21s 3-1 to throw the section wide open, and a win for Germany here would place them in a commanding position. Stay tuned for all of the action, it should be a good game!

Right, before anything else, let me bring you up-to-speed with the all-important team news. Has either manager decided to shuffle their pack from the weekend? Let's run through the two XIs here...

Unsurprisingly, Germany are unchanged from their 2-0 victory over Czech Republic Under-21s last time out, meaning that Serge Gnabry and Mitchell Weiser continue in the final third alongside Davie Selke, while Maximilian Arnold captains the team once again. The inclusions of Mahmoud Dahoud and Max Meyer are further indications of the strength of the Germany team in this competition.

Denmark boss Niels Frederiksen, however, has made three changes from the 2-0 defeat to Italy Under-21s, with Jacob Rasmussen, Frederik Borsting and Lucas Andersen making way for Jakob Blabjerg, Casper Nielsen and Mikkel Duelund. Fulham's Lasse Vigen Christensen, however, captains the team once again, while Marcus Ingvartsen keeps his spot in the final third of the field.

So there we have it. The two teams are in, and we are now just under 15 minutes from kickoff on this warm evening in Krakow. As mentioned, Italy Under-21s have missed the chance to Group C after losing 3-1 to Czech Republic Under-21s earlier tonight. Only the winner of each of the three groups is guaranteed a spot in the semi-finals, with the fourth and final position going to the team with the best runner-up record over three group fixtures. Germany have a big chance to take control of the section.

Goals from Max Meyer and Serge Gnabry saw Germany record a 2-0 win over Czech Republic at the weekend, and victory for Stefan Kuntz's side tonight would set-up a mouthwatering final group match with Italy. Defeat for Germany, however, and all four teams would be on three points.

Germany have only ever won the Under-21 European Championships on one previous occasion – 2009. They did not qualify in 2011 before going out in the group stage of the 2013 competition, but 2015 brought a semi-final appearance, where they lost 5-0 to a very talented Portugal team. Germany have a talented squad at this summer's competition, but the Confederations Cup has robbed them of some key players in Poland. The talent available for Germany at the moment is frightening.

As for Denmark, they also reached the semi-finals of the 2015 competition, losing 4-1 to eventual winners Sweden. Niels Frederiksen's team are in a very difficult position in Group C, however, after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Italy at the weekend. Only a win for Denmark tonight would give them a realistic chance of making it through to the semi-finals once again. Right, kickoff is imminent here!

... it has been a bright start from Denmark, with Ingvartsen and Nielsen both finding space in the final third of the field. The latter has a pop, but Stark is on hand to make a smart block.

It has been a bright opening five minutes here, with both teams showing their willingness to commit players in the final third of the field. Just a reminder that a win for Denmark would leave all four teams in Group C on three points, which would be some prospect entering the final group fixtures.

Possession football for Germany in the last couple of minutes, and Denmark are quite happy to allow the team in white to recycle the ball. You just get the feeling that the first goal tonight - if there indeed is one - could be vital. Both teams have goals in the final third of the field.

Not an awful lot to report in the last three minutes, with the tempo of the match slowing down after a quick start. Germany are the team controlling possession, but Denmark are also extremely capable with the ball at their feet. Neither goalkeeper has been worked in the opening 10 minutes.

Germany are very much on the front foot at the moment as they continue to pass and probe in the final third of the field, but the score remains goalless with 16 minutes on the clock.

Still all Germany in this Group C clash, although the tempo has dropped in the last few minutes, with Denmark more than happy to sit back and absorb the pressure. Germany need a little bit more movement from Selke, who is being easily marked by Denmark's two centre-backs at the moment.

Well, the early tempo has dropped. It is almost like a pre-season game at the moment.

Just a reminder that a win for Germany would leave them three points clear at the top of Group C. That said, it would not secure a spot in the semi-finals ahead of their final game with Italy at the weekend. Defeat for Denmark, and they would be eliminated from the competition tonight.

Much, much better from Germany in the last few minutes as they quicken the pace in the final third of the field. Toljan continues to break down the right, which is opening up space in the middle for Meyer and Arnold. It does appear that the game's opening goal is just around the corner here.

Nielsen delivers a terrific cross into the Germany box, but positive goalkeeping from Pollersbeck sees the danger cleared. That is better from Denmark, who have largely struggled tonight.

Selke meets a deep cross from Meyer, but Hojbjerg is on hand to collect. Little over 15 minutes of the first period remaining, and Denmark continue to resist the German pressure in Krakow.

Another half-chance for Denmark as Ingvartsen breaks towards the Germany box before having a go, but his effort is blocked. The number nine had teammates right and left, but decided to take on the strike. Germany's back four is suddenly looking extremely nervous! Much better from Denmark.

CHANCE! Arnold delivers a stunning free kick into the Denmark box, but a white shirt cannot convert! It was wonderful from Arnold, who should have just registered an assist.

Denmark cannot get out of their own half at the moment as the pressure continues from Germany, who look intent on making the breakthrough before the half-time interval in this Group C clash.

Denmark have been second best for long spells, if not all, of this first period in Krakow, but they are still holding Germany to a 0-0 draw as we head for the half-time break.

So there we have it. The referee brings the first period to a close with the two teams level at 0-0. There is no question that Germany have been the better team in the final third of the field, but the score remains goalless after 45 minutes. Group C is wide open as things stand - that is for sure.

STATISTICS! Germany have dominated the possession with 62%, while they had nine attempts in the first period, although only two of those were on target. Denmark, meanwhile, hit the target with one of their four attempts. Just the one booking to report - Denmark's Christiensen in the 13th minute.

BENCH WATCH! Germany boss Kuntz has a number of attacking options on his bench tonight, with Philipp, Klunter and Oztunali among those capable of making a difference. As for Denmark, the likes of Borsting, Jensen, Rasmussen and Zohore provide options for head coach Frederiksen.

Little over 10 minutes of football remaining in this match, and Germany are close to moving onto six points in Group C. If that, as expected, occurs, they would only need a point against Italy at the weekend to be sure of topping the section, and qualifying for the semi-finals in the process.
