Joachim Low has been given assurances that his job is safe even if Germany do not win Euro 2012.
A 5-3 defeat to Switzerland last week saw a number of German critics question Low's position but the nation's football assosciation technical director, Matthias Sammer, has dismissed those claims.
Sammer told Focus magazine: "The outcome surely could not be so catastrophic that the high-quality job that Jogi has done over such a long period of time can be seen in a different light without success at the European Championships.
"In the event of that happening, we would just have to go through a difficult phase with this national team coach."
Germany face Portugal, Holland and Denmark in their group.
