Germany midfielder Mario Gotze has admitted that he and his teammates underperformed during Friday's win over Gibraltar.
The world champions defeated Gibraltar 4-0 in Nuremberg last night to boost their hopes of reaching Euro 2016.
Despite coming away with a comfortable victory, Gotze has conceded that a lack of finishing cost the Germans a more emphatic triumph.
"We had hoped for a better scoreline, but with Gibraltar standing as deep as they were, it was not easy," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We should have scored more and been more forceful and we've only got ourselves to blame for that."
Germany return to action on Tuesday when they make the trip to Spain for a friendly.
