Germany forward Max Kruse has admitted that his side played a lot better in the first half than the second in their 4-2 friendly win against Ecuador on Wednesday night.
Kruse, who was one of four German debutants on the night, put the second-half defensive frailties down to the tough conditions in the Ecuadorian altitude.
"We weren't as compact in defence, but that was partly due to the weather," Kruse told Bundesliga.com. "We also weren't as active going forward after the break."
Lukas Podolski and Lars Bender scored twice each in the first half to give Germany the win.
