Matthias Sammer has insisted that he has "no interest" in taking charge of the German national team.
Reports had claimed that the former Germany international would be keen on replacing Joachim Low at the conclusion of Euro 2012.
However, the 44-year-old has revealed that he will continue in his role as a sporting director with the German FA.
"I've found my calling as sporting director. I am infinitely grateful to the DFB in the last six years," he told Bild. "I can work independently and I have a lot of support. I have absolutely no interest in working again as a trainer."
Sammer made 51 appearances for Germany.
