Gillingham defender John Egan is eyeing improvement in his performances following his summer transfer from Sunderland.
The 21-year-old was released by the Black Cats during the summer and was quickly snapped up by Gillingham on a two-year deal.
Egan told BBC Radio Kent: "One of the reasons I came here was that I wanted to play every game and show people what I am capable of.
"I was lucky enough to have earned my place in the starting XI in pre-season by playing well and I'll try to keep getting better every game."
Egan failed to make an appearance for Sunderland but spent time on loan at Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Bradford City and Southend United.
