Jose Ramon Sandoval has hailed Granada's never-say-die attitude after winning their relegation battle and staying in La Liga this season.
Sandoval's side brought a three-game winning streak into their final clash with Atletico Madrid and won the point needed to finish their great escape this evening.
"Thanks to the fans and the players who never gave up. I thanked the squad before the match. Football is football players. Things were bad but they were able to react in time," he told AS.
"We had to be calm. Atletico could have done us great harm. We had to play very smart.
"There were a lot of possibilities in terms of results. We played on a knife edge because ultimately we depended on others. I prayed a lot."
Eibar and Almeria join Cordoba, whose fate has been sealed for a matter of weeks, in the Segunda Division next season.
