Jocelyn Gourvennec has claimed that Sylvain Marveaux has the ability to become a "great player" for Guingamp after opening his account for the club in midweek.
The 28-year-old, who joined the club on loan from Newcastle United in the summer, had struggled for form in the early stages of the season, but Gourvennec is confident that the forward is on the brink of reaching his peak after seeing him score twice against PAOK in the Europa League.
"For Sylvain to become a great player again, it takes consistency and to be decisive in these matches," Gourvennec told reporters. "When he plays like that, he's a very influential player in a role that suits him perfectly.
"He can help us progress now, and hopefully move up."
Guingamp return to action in Ligue 1 against Nantes on Sunday.
