Hamilton boss Martin Canning is keeping his fingers crossed key duo Darian MacKinnon and Mickel Miller pull through in time to for Saturday’s Hibernian clash.
Top-scorer Miller and vice-captain MacKinnon both sat out last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to basement boys Dundee with hamstring injuries.
But Canning is cautiously optimistic that both men could shake off their strains in time to face Neil Lennon’s men at Easter Road.
He said: “Darian and Mickel will do a little bit today and we will see how we go with them for Saturday.
“But the good thing is that both of them are definitely in the shorter-term category when it comes to their problems.
“You always have to be that extra bit careful with hamstrings. If it were an ankle ligament, you would probably take a risk and play them, but with hamstrings you have to be a little bit more cautious.
“So we will see what happens today and then later in the week before we make out minds up.
“It will be good to have them back for Saturday if we can. On the back of the St Mirren game when Mickel had scored twice and Darian played well himself, it was a blow not to have them against Dundee.”
